The thing I hate so much about this is that its so ORDINARY. This isn’t an artifact. It can’t be neutralized. No one can save the day. Its fuckingcancer. The treatment is often worse than the disease, and it takes control of your body away from you and I fucking hate it because Myka is always losing. She’s lost her lover, her faith in herself, her place (even though she did gain the Warehouse) but then she lost HG, she lost her faith again, she’s lost time and friends and love and she just keeps losing and now even her own body is being taken away from her. Not by something supernatural. Not by something bigger than life or unreal or too crazy to be believed. By cancer. By her own fucking cells.

I hate everything.

I think, in a way, there’s something kind of terribly, poetically beautiful about it. day in and day out, they put their lives on the line and dodge dangers and deaths few could fathom; day in and day out they are told of the dangers of the Warehouse, of the artifacts, that it changes you and you end up crazy, evil, or dead, that everything has a price and a downside. they spend so much time dealing with the fallout from the extraordinary, saving the world and dying and being resurrected, that they lose sight of ordinary. it’s kind a perfect little bow, then, on ‘not all wonder is endless.’ sometimes it just takes one errant little cell to make it all come crashing down, to drag everything back into perspective, for ordinary to gain new appreciation and get its foot back in the door.

I may actually completely agree with you BUT I STILL HATE IT. I mean seriously I think it is actually perfect. Because of all the times she has been extraordinary and all the ways her life has been impacted by the Warehouse. Even going back to Sam, before she realized how her life was entwined with it. And all the marvels and the challenges and the things she has over come its her own body that betrays her. And the REALLY shitty thing is that she’s felt betrayed by her heart before. With Helena. But she overcame that. She believed in Helena and she was right. But this isn’t about faith or hope. Its not something she can reason or plan or fight her way out of. its a disease.

AND I FUCKING HATE IT.
